Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara - First Impression

Hello my loves!

Today I used, for the first time, my Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara. This mascara isn't readily available in New Zealand, unlike most Jordana products, however you can buy it here for $11.90NZ. I bought mine from this wonderful woman for $8. Now after trying They're Real mascara (which I find online for around $40) I was convinced that nothing in the world could make my lashes look that amazing, especially not such an inexpensive mascara, Jordana's sells for about $3 in the US! But I bought this after hearing crazy amazing reviews on it on YouTube. Is the hype real?

Please note I did use a different mascara on my lower lashes.

I have never seen my lashes look this long or voluminous. It really separates my lashes but makes it look like I have about 10 million of them. It's such a black mascara which I really love and it also did not flake or crumble at all during the day, I wore it for about 7 or 8 hours. It did not make my lashes hard and crunchy like They're Real does and it also held a curl really nicely. I think the best part about it was that it came off so easily at the end of the day when I use my Garnier Micellar Water on it. The formula is quite wet but I've been told that it gets drier quite quickly, which is both a good and bad thing, because it can dry out completely in about a month's time. Not so bad when you're paying $3 for it in the US, but when paying almost 12 for it here, that can be a little bit more of a problem. The last thing I found was that it dried on the lashes super fast so it was really easy to build up, I used 3 coats here and there was no clumping at all. So incredibly pleased with how it looks.

I really like the packaging too. Even though it's not something I'd be whipping out of my purse, like a lippy, I can appreciate the basic black tube with really pretty light purple writing on it. The brush isn't my typical kind of brush, if you've seen the They're Real, that is the kind of huge brush I like to see. This one is quite a normal size with soft bristles on it. I didn't poke myself in the eye with it at all, unlike with my bigger mascara wands, where I poke myself at least twice. I actually think this wand will mean I'll be able to use it on my lower lashes too? I'll update once I've tried it.

Update: I used it on my lower lashes and while they look awesome, it's lucky I was wearing eyeliner because it got everywhere. No smudging or flaking, the brush is just too big to use on the lower lashes.

Overall I am thrilled with this mascara and I feel like it might even be my new holy grail. Seriously. If you own this or know other places to buy it for less than that first website, please let me know!

Thanks so much for reading,

- WannabeMUA (Enya) xx
